Can I legally pepper spray a guy?

So I was driving through an unfamiliar part of town and pulled into a KFC parking lot to turn around, when these two black guys approached my car window. They started "hollering" at me and got closer and closer. When they got close enough I reached out and pepper sprayed them. Will I get in trouble? I've heard stories about black guys raping white girls and stealing their cars, so I feel it was provoked self defense.
