Why don't the American People recognize "Jimmy Carter" as the great appeaser to Terrorism that he really is?

Its a good ysis I think it comes down to our system and way of life and the way we view life isn't prepared to fight fanatical opponents. We only keep a commander in chief for a maximum of 8 years, our political system by nature is divisive and our people are encouraged to protest government actions. This system does not foster the type of crusade needed for a total military victory, we will either need to adapt to the cirstances, change our definition of victory, or get out of the way.
