Math and police work?

Hey, I'm wanting to become a homicide detective and I was wondering how much math is involved with becoming a police officer. I don't have the greatest math skills although I can get by. I was wondering if it would be ok to finish this semester up of math then join the police academy. I want to get back and finish my college but I didn't know if I should or not. I know you have to have math being a h.d. and I want to finish along with a language. Do you think it's a good idea to finish this semester out then try and join the academy then afterwards get back into the college? I just go to a community college.. nothing like UT or anything. haha. Thanks for all y'alls input!
